High School: Attended Vinton Shellsburg High School in Vinton, Iowa, where he played football and participated in track & field for four years each. First team all-district as a senior in football. Member of National Honor Society.

Personal: Born June 29, 1993. Son of Greg and Kris Hallberg and has one sister (Andrea). Majoring in Exercise Science.
