Iowa Wesleyan College: Mendoza is in his second year at Iowa Wesleyan and received his first letter last year after transferring from Concordia University in Irvine, Calif. He also attended Glendale Community College in Glendale, Calif., for two years prior to Concordia.

2011: Played in 54 games, starting 52. Batted .350 with 69 hits in 197 at bats. Hit 16 doubles, three triples, two home runs and drove in 36 runs and also scored 32 runs and stole 11 bases. Named First Team All-Midwest Collegiate Conference and ranked among MCC leaders in hits (2nd), doubles (2nd), total bases (2nd) and runs batted in (tie-4th).

High School: Attended Temple City High School in Temple City, California, where he played three years on the varsity baseball team. Named first team all-league three times and received all-city honors as a junior and senior.

Born June 7, 1988. Son of Dale and Sheryl Mendoza and has one brother (Alexander). Majoring in Communications.
