Biography

Parkevich is in his second year at the helm of the Tigers’ football team.  In his first year as the head coach at Iowa Wesleyan, the Tigers went 3-8 on the year.

Parkevich is the 48th football coach in Iowa Wesleyan's 122-year history of playing football. He replaced Kent Anderson, who coached the Tigers the previous two years.

Parkevich came to Iowa Wesleyan from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minn., where he was the defensive coordinator for the previous four years.  In his last year there, he directed the defense for a Saints team that recorded the school's first-ever undefeated season and received its first berth to the NCAA Division III playoffs in the program's four-year history.

Parkevich's defenses at St. Scholastica ranked among the very best in the nation in NCAA Division III in turnover margin during his final two years, leading the country in 2011 and finishing second nationally in 2010.  In the 2011 season, the Saints won their first-ever Upper Midwest Athletic Conference championship and completed a 10-0 regular season.

Parkevich joined St. Scholastica after spending the previous ten years at Earlham (Ind.) College. He served as defensive coordinator over his final eight seasons with the Quakers after spending his first two years as the football program's linebackers coach. Prior to his stint at Earlham, Parkevich was the defensive coordinator for the football program at Blackburn (Ill.) College from1994-1997.

This is Parkevich's first collegiate head football coaching job. He does have collegiate head coaching experience, having served as head baseball coach for 13 years during his stints at both Earlham and Blackburn.

A native of Logansport, Ind., Parkevich is a 1991 graduate of Mount Senario (Wis.) College where he was a two-time all-conference honoree at inside linebacker, two-year team captain, two-time Defensive MVP and team MVP as a senior. During the summers of 1990 and 1991, he played inside linebacker and coordinated the defense for the Stoke-on-Trent Spitfires in England.

Parkevich and his wife Michelle have three children, Beau (15 years old), Levi (12), and Veronica (10), and they will reside in Mount Pleasant.
