Athletic Training Services
The Henry County Health Center provides athletic training support for the Iowa Wesleyan College Athletic Department. Iowa Wesleyan College thanks HCHC for its partnership and for providing athletic training services for all Tiger sports teams. HCHC Athletic Trainer Mandy Borchers is certified in her field and helps IWC athletes maintain peak levels of athletic performance as well as recover from injuries. Mandy Borchers is in her second year on the athletic training staff at Iowa Wesleyan College, having joined the Tigers for the 2010-11 school year.

Before joining the staff at Henry County Health Center, Borchers was a graduate assistant athletic trainer at the University of Iowa. She served as an assistant athletic trainer at Mid-America Nazarene University in 2007-08 and was an intern assistant athletic trainer at Loras College from 2006-07. She also received student athletic training experience at Wartburg College (2005-06), the University of Northern Iowa (2003-06) and St. Ambrose University (2002-03).

She is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association and the National Athletic Training Association, and is a certified strength and conditioning specialist.

Borchers is a native of Orange City, Iowa and earned her B.A. in athletic training from the University of Northern Iowa in 2006. In May 2010 she received her M.S. in exercise science from the University of Iowa.

Andy Niemann

Andy Niemann is entering his first season as a member of the Iowa Wesleyan College athletic training staff through the Henry County Health Center. In addition to providing coverage at IWC, Niemann will also provide sports medicine coverage at Mount Pleasant Community High School.

Niemann recently completed his M.S. in Athletic Training at Indiana State University where he served as an athletic trainer and lab instructor for the past two years. At Indiana State he also assisted with a number of the school's NCAA Division I athletic teams, including the Sycamores' football, basketball, baseball, volleyball and softball teams.

Niemann is a native of West Bend, Iowa, and received his B.A. in athletic training from the University of Northern Iowa in 2010. He has given presentations at the regional and national level on various topics in sports medicine including hydration, modalities, and cryotherapy. Niemann has also received various honors and awards including 2012 Graduate Assistant of the Year at Indiana State University.

Andy is married to wife Katarina, who works at Iowa Wesleyan as Director of Student Activities, and the couple now resides in Mount Pleasant.
