The Tigers volleyball team opened up the season at the Wolves Tournament at Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, Wis. last Friday and Saturday.It was a rough start to the season as the Tigers lost all four matches in the tournament.

The Tigers opened up the two-day tournament against the University of St. Francis (Ind.).The Tigers dropped all the games to the Cougars, 15-25, 13-25, 12-25.The Tigers then played host Cardinal Stritch University on Friday night.The result was the same as the Tigers lost to the Wolves 16-25, 6-25, 20-25.

The second day of the Wolves Tournament had similar results for the Tigers.They opened the day against Cardinal Stritch again.The Wolves proved too strong as they came out firing and defeated the Tigers 11-25, 17-25, and 21-25.The Tigers fought hard throughout the match and in the final game, they gave the Wolves a good run as the game was tied six times throughout play.In the end, the Wolves game out on top and went undefeated (4-0) in their home tournament.

In the final game of the tournament, the Tigers took on the University of St. Francis (Ind.) again.The Cougars proved too strong again for the Tigers as the Tigers fell 17-25, 18-25, 18-25.

Lacie Tarver (Jr. - Mead, CO) led the Tigers with 27 kills in the tournament.Tarver also led the team with 35 digs.Elizabeth Guzman (Sr. - Beaumont, CA) added 23 kills for the Tigers, who tallied 83 kills as a team in the two-day tournament.Alexi Holmes (Sr. - Richland, IA) led the team with 65 assists and five service aces in the four games for the Tigers.The Tigers recorded 11 service aces as a team.

The Tigers will go on the road next to take on the Culver-Stockton College Wildcats on Wednesday, August 29 at 7:00pm.
