Fr.-Milwaukee, Wis.) was eliminated in the semifinals of the the 110-meter hurdles Friday afternoon at the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships.
Brown finished seventh of nine participants in the first of two semifinal heats, coming home in a time of 14.70 seconds. Overall he finished 12th of 18 hurdlers in the two heats, missing advancement to the finals by three places and .06.
Brown's time of 14.70 was better than his preliminaries time of 14.81 but still well off his season best of 14.51 on May 5 at the Midwest Collegiate Conference Championships. A pair of MCC hurdlers who finished behind Brown in the conference championships posted better times in the semifinals, and Christian Awah of Ashford University qualified for the finals later Friday afternoon with a time of 14.61.
Cedrique Smith of Azusa Pacific (Calif.) University won the first semifinal heat with a time of 14.07, the best time of the two semifinals. The finals in the 110 hurdles were scheduled to be run later on Friday at approximately 3:40 p.m. Central time.
