CEDAR RAPIDS - Mount Mercy University defeated the Iowa Wesleyan College volleyball team in three sets Tuesday night in a Midwest Collegiate Conference match. It was the second time the Mustangs topped the Tigers in four days.

The Mustangs swept the Tigers in three sets by scores of 25-16, 25-20 and 25-17, finishing the match in just over an hour. Mount Mercy improved to 21-11 overall and 5-4 in the MCC, while IWC fell to 2-7 in conference play and 7-23 overall.

Megan McVey (Sr.-Fort Worth, Texas) led IWC with nine kills and 14 digs. Alex Ramos (Fr.-Commerce, Calif.) led the team with 10 assists. Alexi Holmes (Jr.-Richland, Iowa) also contributed 10 digs for the Tigers.

Wesleyan will be playing in the quarterfinals of the MCC Tournament on Saturday as the #8 seed at Grand View University, which earned the #1 seed. Play will begin at 7 p.m.
