MOUNT PLEASANT - Kelly Wetherald (Fr.-Homer Glen, Ill.) has been named the Midwest Collegiate Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, as the conference announced its weekly honors for the week on Monday.

Wetherald scored two game winning goals as the Tigers won two matches last week to improve to 8-6 overall and 2-3 in MCC play. Her first game-winning goal against William Penn University on Tuesday came in a must win game for the Tigers. She converted off of a free kick inside the box in the second half of play.

The freshman forward also scored the game winning goal on Saturday against Mount Mercy University in the final six minutes of play. The win gave the Tigers a new school record of eight wins in a season, previously held at seven wins in 2003 and 2009.

In 14 games Wetherald has earned four goals and one assist for nine points. She ranks third on the team in both goals and points and also is tied for the team lead with three game-winning goals.

The Tiger women will be at Grand View University in Des Moines on Wednesday, Oct. 12 at 7:30 p.m.
