Dolinsky scores winner as IWC men get first MCC win

MOUNT PLEASANT - Kris Dolinsky (Fr.-Fisher, Ind.) scored the lone goal and Mirko Drsysga (Fr.-Bremen, Germany) got a shutout in his first collegiate win in goal as the Iowa Wesleyan College men's soccer team defeated Waldorf College 1-0 Saturday afternoon at Bolstorff Field.

Dolinsky scored midway through the second half, recording an unassisted goal at 67:13 of the match to break a scoreless tie. His second goal of the season gave Wesleyan (4-6 overall) its fourth win of the year and first Midwest Collegiate Conference win in three tries.

The Tigers had the upper hand in play, outshooting the Warriors 15-6. Drsysga, getting his second start in goal this year in place of Troy Osborne (Sr.-Sydney, Australia), had to make just two saves to record the shutout.

Caio Costa (Fr.-Sao Paolo, Brazil) led IWC with six shots taken, five on goal. Chris Matthews (Jr.-Toronto, Ontario, Canada) added three shots taken.

Erik Hundevad made six saves in goal for Waldorf, which dropped to 1-6 overall, 0-3 in the MCC.

The Tigers have another important conference match Tuesday at home at East Lake Park against William Penn University. The women's/men's doubleheader will begin with the women's match at 1 p.m. and the men's to follow at 3 p.m.
