MOUNT PLEASANT -
Erin Lucido (
Fr.-St. Louis, Mo.) has been named the Midwest Collegiate Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, as the conference announced its initial weekly honors for the 2011-12 school year on Monday.
Lucido scored four goals and added an assist as the Tigers won two of three matches last week to improve to 3-1 overall. One of her goals was an overtime winner on Sunday in a 2-1 victory over Briar Cliff University, when her second goal of the match came in the second overtime period for a sudden death win.
The freshman forward also scored twice on Thursday in Wesleyan's 2-1 win over Monmouth (Ill.) College, tallying twice in the first half. She also added an assist on Saturday in the Tigers' 3-1 loss to Morningside College in Sioux City.
In four matches Lucido has the four goals and an assist this year for nine points. Her four goals and nine points both are already more than any IWC player scored in the 2010 season.
The Tiger women's and men's soccer teams will again be on the road Wednesday when they travel to Fayette, Mo., to face Central Methodist University. The women's match will begin at 5 p.m. with the men's match at 7 p.m.
