PEOSTA - The Iowa Wesleyan College women's golf team continued spring play finishing fifth at the Clarke University Invitational concluding Sunday at Thunder Hills Country Club.
The Tigers had a tough second day of the tourney, finishing with a score of 421 on Sunday to drop from fourth to fifth in the overall standings with a total score of 806. The University of Wisconsin-Platteville won the tourney with a score of 708, easily ahead of the host school in second and William Penn University in third.
Wesleyan was much better on the first day, which was played at Lacoma Golf Course in East Dubuque, Ill. The Tigers finished the first round with a score of 385, ahead of William Penn by four strokes and just eight shots behind third-place Loras College.
IWC was paced by Melissa Petersen
), who was 15th with a two-day score of 196. Gabby Combs
) and Michelle Lox
) both tied for 19th with matching scores of 200, and Combs had the best individual round for the Tigers with a round of 95 on the first day.Stevie Schrier

) was 27th with a score of 222. Kayla Bishop
) shot a round of 96 on Saturday but withdrew and did not finish the second day.
The Tigers will close out their spring season with the Midwest Collegiate Conference Championships to be held Friday and Saturday at Blue Top Ridge Golf Course in Riverside.Clarke Invitational Results
