ANKENY, IOWA - The Iowa Wesleyan College men's golf team took fifth place at the Midwest Collegiate Conference Championship at the windy Otter Creek Golf Course held Friday and Saturday.

After the first 18 holes, the Tigers trailed Mount Mercy by six shots for fourth place, but passed the Mustangs after the second 18 holes, eventually finishing ahead of the Mustangs by six shots. William Penn surpassed both IWC and Mount Mercy over the final two rounds finished fourth, while IWC finished the tournament shooting 927 (310-311-306).

Grand View University won its first ever MCC Championship on Saturday by shooting an 851 (292-281-286). The Vikings held off defending champion and powerhouse St. Ambrose University by nine shots.

Mark Cleary (So.-London, England) led the Tigers with a three round score of 226 (76-77-73) finishing tied for 10th place individually. After Cleary was Adam Moyers (Sr.-Burlington, Iowa) who shot a 227 (75-80-72), tying for 13th. Next was Nick Juskewycz (So.-Fairfield, Iowa) who carded a 237 (81-75-81) tying for 27th place. Also tying for 27th was Emery McGraw (Jr.-Loveland, Colo) who shot a 237 (78-79-80). Zach Hale (Fr.-Indianola, Iowa) rounded out the Tigers score with a 248 (83-83-82) finishing 35th.

Winning the tournament individually was Josh Manske of Grand View firing a 206 (69-67-70) just three shots ahead of his teammate Graeme Molloy.

IWC will conclude its spring season at the Mount Mercy Spring Golf Classic at Hunters Ridge Golf Course in Marion next Sunday and Monday.
