The Tiger women's basketball and softball teams led the way for IWC, with both teams having ten honorees each. Eight members of the Iowa Wesleyan women's soccer team also were honored, while the Tiger baseball and women's golf teams also both had five student-athletes honored.

A total of 897 student-athletes were honored on MCC all-academic teams in 15 sports, including a number of student-athletes participating in and receiving academic honors in multiple sports. IWC fielded teams in 13 of the 15 MCC sports, and eight Tiger athletes were named all-academic in two sports.

Students on the team were nominated by their individual institutions and must have completed at least two consecutive terms at their current institution and have at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average.
